Fudge FAQs

Other than the fact that we are using the same family recipe that has been used for over 100 years, we don’t use trans fats (i.e., partially hydrogenated oils) or similar ingredients to preserve our fudge. We use only all natural ingredients. The bad news is that our fudge won’t last into the next century like those other fudges. Our fudge is softer and creamier than most fudge and melts in your mouth.

All of our flavors of fudge are gluten-free and contain dairy (milk, cream and butter). Many flavors contain walnuts, pecans or peanuts and all flavors are made in the same facility. While we take precautions to avoid allergy contamination, but we cannot guarantee that any flavor is completely free of traces of nuts. Well that depends on you! Joking aside, we don’t use a “Best By” date or an expiration date as the length of time the fudge will last depends on you and how you store it. Remember that our fudge contains NO preservatives, and because it is made with ingredients like fresh milk, cream and butter, it won’t last forever. We store our fresh fudge in a cool and dry environment. We like to say that our fudge will last for up to 45 days stored in an ideal environment.

If you would like the fudge to last longer than our ideal 45 days, wrap the fudge tightly and simply place it in a sealed container and freeze. As long as the fudge is frozen immediately upon receipt, it can be stored in the freezer for up to 6 months without affecting the quality, taste or appearance.

If you freeze our fudge, to properly thaw it first place it in refrigerator for 24 hours, then place at room temperature. This prevents condensation from occurring and affecting the fudge.

No. The fudge will not melt during shipping. Our fudge is cooked thoroughly so it is not susceptible to melting like many types of fudge. This means you can enjoy our fudge anywhere year-round without the concern of it melting.

Popcorn FAQs

Kettle corn is a sweet-and-salty variety of popcorn that is typically mixed or seasoned with a pure cane, extra- fine sugar, salt, and oil. We add sugar right into the kettle and still maintain large delicious kernels of popcorn. We don’t skimp on the sugar or the salt like many of our competitors. And it’s gluten free too!

You have just discovered the absolute BEST in snacking popcorn. Whether watching a movie or just relaxing, this popcorn is delicious with just the right amount of salt added and a great crunch. There is no butter or trans fats in our gourmet popcorn. It is popped in 100% soybean vegetable oil and lightly salted. That’s it!

You will generally see most popcorn makers using what is called “Butterfly” popcorn. This type of popcorn has less surface area for salt, sugar and caramel to attach to and results in a lot of small, broken pieces. We use “Mushroom” popcorn. The primary difference between mushroom popcorn and butterfly popcorn is the shape of the popped kernel. A mushroom kernel is round in shape like a baseball. The popped kernel is large and results in less broken pieces as it retains its shape. We feel this is the best popcorn to use for all of our popcorn products.

Yes! All of our popcorn is certified Gluten Free.

All of the popcorn we pop is “non-GMO”. We stand behind this claim and require written documentation from our corn farmers. You can request a copy of our certification by emailing us at info@hutchinsonscandy.com.

Our kettle corn and gourmet popcorn can remain fresh up to 45 days, while our caramel corn flavors can stay fresh as long as 120 days. However, this all depends on how it is stored. The better you reseal the bag, the longer it will last. Temperature and humidity will also affect how quickly the popcorn will go stale. You can extend the freshness and life of your Seaside Kettle Corn, Gourmet Popcorn or caramel corn flavors by months by placing them in a freezer-safe container or freezer bag in your freezer. Since our products don't absorb moisture, they're not frozen in a solid state. They can be eaten right out of the freezer!

Ship FAQs

We ship our products all over the United States using either USPS or UPS Ground, Next Day and Two Day delivery. We will ship your order within two business days and often within the first 24 hours, unless otherwise specified in your order.

During busy holiday periods however, it may take slightly longer. The shipping time will usually vary between 1-3 business days depending on the shipping method selected and your shipment’s destination. If you need an order rushed for any reason, feel free to call us to ensure on time delivery is possible.

We ship USPS Priority Mail and they cannot guarantee arrival on an exact day unless you pay extra for Express Mail or if you select UPS Next Day or 2nd Day shipping. You can however specify an “arrive by” date at checkout and we’ll make sure it arrives on or before the date. We can also write, “Do Not Open until X date” upon request.

Depending on your shipping location, it will arrive between 1 and 3 business days with standard Priority mail. If you chose Express mail, it should arrive the next day. If you chose UPS it will depend if you selected Next Day or 2nd Day. With UPS we will provide you with an email containing a tracking number. If you chose to ship via USPS and would like a Tracking number, please Contact Us.
